With the help of drug treatment, most people can live a normal life: study, go to work and have close relationships. However, the disease will never be cured. The cycle of manic and depressive episodes remains, even if you use the medication regularly. The medication evens out the peaks of depression and speed, in which case you may not need hospital treatment at all.
Psychotherapy can also be used as treatment

Hereditary factors play a role
Manic is usually caused by bipolar disorder. It usually occurs at a young age, but it can occur at any age. Hereditary factors influence the disease. Traumatic childhood experiences and stressful life situations also predispose to the disease. Abnormalities in the neurotransmitters of the central nervous system and in the structure and metabolism of the brain have been found in those affected. If a parent or sibling has bipolar disorder, the risk of getting sick is 5-10 times higher than others.
The same applies to nursing work. When i bump into the resident’s acquaintances outside of work, they might ask how he is doing. I have to direct them to ask relatives. Sometimes i fear they will feel bad about this. Says that she has the same attitude towards people everywhere. No one is better than the other. Age, appearance and background do not matter. I meet everyone truly as they are. I hope that this attitude of mine is transmitted to my clients in the hair salon, home visits and nursing homes.
